1. Who we are

Curva is an independent, personal Formula 1 analytics project, built and run by Joaquin Lara. It is not a commercial service: it is free, has no user accounts, and sells nothing. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit the site, and what happens to it.

2. The short version

In plain terms:

• You do not need an account, and we never ask you for personal information.
• We use no tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not follow you across other websites.
• We use anonymous, aggregated visit statistics to see which pages get used and whether the site is fast.
• We do not sell or share your personal data with anyone.

3. What we collect

Visit statistics (Vercel Web Analytics). We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data: the page you view, the page you came from (referrer), your approximate country and region, and your device type, operating system, and browser. This uses no cookies, does not store your IP address, and cannot identify you or track you across other websites.

Performance (Vercel Speed Insights). We collect anonymous page-speed measurements (known as Web Vitals) along with device type, browser, network speed, and country. This also uses no cookies and identifies no one.

Server logs (Vercel hosting). Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) processes technical data for each request, including your IP address, the date and time, and your browser, in order to serve pages and protect the service.

On-device storage. We store data inside your own browser so the site loads quickly and remembers your preferences (see the Cookies and local storage section). This information stays on your device and is not sent to any server to track you.

4. What we do not collect

• There are no accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
• We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other personal detail through forms.
• We process no payments and hold no card or billing data.
• We show no advertising and use no ad networks or tracking pixels.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with data brokers.

5. Cookies and local storage

Curva uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The only data stored for the site to function is:

• curva-theme: a first-party cookie that remembers whether you prefer the light or dark theme, so the page doesn't flash the wrong one on load.
• Local storage (localStorage): holds temporary copies of F1 data you've already loaded (standings, calendar, next race, records, ticker) and preferences such as your time zone and theme, to speed the site up on later visits.

You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings. The site will still work; it will simply reload the data.

6. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process the limited information described above on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving a simple informational website. Because the analytics data is anonymous and no tracking cookies are used, we do not rely on your consent for it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. California residents also have the right to know what information is collected, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Because Curva collects no data that identifies you, we generally hold no profile of you that we could export or erase. Even so, if you have any question or request, contact us at admin@curvaanalytics.com.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) or "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signal that asks websites not to track you. Because Curva does not track you, use tracking cookies, or sell or share personal data in the first place, there is nothing for these signals to switch off. We treat every visitor this way by default, whether or not the signal is present.

9. Data retention

Visit statistics are anonymous and aggregated, and the visitor session is automatically discarded after 24 hours. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period for security and diagnostics. Data stored in your browser stays until you clear it.

10. Security

We use a reputable hosting provider (Vercel) and serve the site over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Because Curva holds almost no data about you (no accounts, no personal details), there is very little that could be exposed. That said, no website or internet transmission is ever perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of outside services to run:

• Vercel: hosts the site and provides the anonymous visit and performance statistics. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• News sources: the News section gathers headlines from outside F1 outlets. The text is fetched by our server, but news images load directly from the original sites, so those sites may see your browser's request (including your IP), just as if you visited their pages.
• F1 data: session and timing information comes from the official F1 feed via the FastF1 library. This is sports data, not data about you.

12. Children's privacy

Curva is a general-audience informational site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. International visitors

The site and its hosting provider operate globally, so the limited technical data described here may be processed on servers located outside your own country. By using the site, you understand that this may happen.

14. Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Meaningful changes will be reflected here.
